Tonight after a great dinner with Dyles we came home to start getting the kids ready for bed, do some dishes and take out the trash. Not necessarily in that order.
I put Aiden in his Bumbo while I was loading the dishwasher. He was happy and talking, no indication at all of the explosion that was about to take place. Actually there was no indication after it happened either. For those of you who do not have kids, or even those that do but dont have a bumbo, a bumbo is this seat that helps your little one sit up. It kind of holds them in so they cant come out of it, though sometimes with Aiden I swear hes about to fling himself out of it.
So I notice the dogs having a weird interest in Aiden, smelling all around his back. Aiden is in the bumbo on the floor. So I pick him up, all seems ok and then I smell it... I immediately know that this is gonna be a mess, especially because of how he was sitting in the bumbo. And yep sure enough, there is poop all out of the diaper going up his back. So I yell for Bee to come and help me wipe up our poopie child. Aiden doesn't mind, he is happy as ever just smiling away. He is seriously always so happy and sweet.
One box of baby wipes later, we have a cleaned up baby. Bee decides hes going to take the boys upstairs to bath but first he has to check a email. Pesky emails... so he sits Aiden back in the bumbo (which we have cleaned). I continue with the dishes and then notice Aiden doesn't have a diaper on. Why doesn't he have a diaper on? Beebe didn't want to waste one since they were going to go right up to bath... I think you see where this is going.
Aiden pees. Now its on the floor, its on the bumbo and its on him. I yell at Beebe to come get his child and clean up the mess. Im laughing because of course my husband would argue that he didn't want to waste a diaper because they "were" going to shower after that pesky email. But I do see his point that after that first explosion how could anything else come out of our child. Notice how I said first....
Bee comes in to get Aiden and then Aiden spits up. For those of you who have seen Aiden spit up, or have been unfortunate enough to be holding him when it happens know its more like projectile throw up. But Aiden is still smiling. So we just laugh. Then Beebe picks him up and we discover explosion #2. Yes, he had more to come out! All those peas and carrots I've been feeding him. Following cleanup Beebe took both the boys for a much needed shower. So folks, be careful of those bumbos and put a diaper on your kid.
