How did you meet?
We met years ago at church and reconnected online!

Include a little bit about yourselves. What do you do?
Kerry works his tail off in a warehouse making sure you can continue to stock pile your house in the middle of a pandemic! LaShawn is the Tax Manager at a payroll company making sure taxes are paid and reported on time and employees all over the country get their W2s and 1099s on time!

What is your favorite thing about each other?
My favorite thing about Kerry is his big smile and the way his eyes disappear when that smile appears! He is the funniest guy with the kindest soul! Kerry’s favorite thing about me is… well he won’t answer me! He said to pick one thing would be highly disrespectful. Haha so I’ll help him out! I’m funny and smart and I cook his favorite meals… sometimes!

How did the proposal go? Who proposed to who, were you surprised?
Kerry took me on a last minute trip to Hawaii and popped the question on the last day after a long hike in front of a waterfall. It was magical. He completely surprised me because I packed his luggage and didn’t see him hide the ring anywhere! The ring was hidden inside of a pack of gum!!

Where was your ceremony held and why did you pick this site?
Our ceremony was held at The Champagne Palace in Elmwood! We switched venues due to COVID restrictions and the staff was AWESOME and so accomodating! And my parents were married here years ago so it meant so much to be able to get married in the same spot!

Pick one moment in the day that was your favorite thing?
Kerry’s favorite was kissing the bride! LaShawn’s favorite was when vows were exchanged! We wrote our own and I was nervous about it, but it was absolutely beautiful and I wouldn’t change it for the world!

Did it really go by as quickly as everyone says?
Yes! Absolutely! I was shocked when the second line music started playing! Our wedding flew by! So glad we have memories in photo and video!

OMG! This is about to happen!!

From the groom – When you first saw the bride, what were you thinking/feeling?
I felt like the luckiest man alive!

Who was your baker, what was the flavor of your cake? Was it delicious?!
Swiss Confectionary! Kerry loved the pineapple filing and I loved the raspberry so we got both! Cake was beautiful and delicious!

What was your first dance song? Why this song?
We dance to You and I by John Legend. When I heard the song (for the hundredth time), it hit me that this is how Kerry sees me! “Out of all of the girls, you’re my one and only girl. Ain’t nobody in the world tonight..” I was driving and started crying. Called him and said that the words in the song resonate with me and he said “Okay! Let’s do it!”

We work really hard to help come up with a timeline and plan for the portrait list to make sure you are getting the most out of your day. How useful was this for you?
The timeline was EXTREMELY useful even though we were running behind schedule.
