How did you meet?
We met in middle school at Saint Thomas More in Baton Rouge. We dated for a couple months in eighth grade and then started dating again our sophomore year of high school and have been together ever since.

Include a little bit about yourselves. What do you do?
Cade is a commercial real estate agent and I am an accountant. We have a 7 month old golden retriever named buddy who we consider to be our child (lol)

How did the proposal go? Who proposed to who, were you surprised?
I had been wanting cade to propose for so long. He surprised me by picking me up after work one afternoon and bringing me to downtown Baton Rouge and proposed there!

Where was your ceremony held and why did you pick this site?
We have always loved New Orleans and the zoo, so with some research, we found the Tea Room and knew it was perfect for us.

Pick one moment in the day that was your favorite thing?
I think both of our favorite moment was the first look. It was special to have that private moment to see each other for the first time!

Did it really go by as quickly as everyone says?
The whole day felt like it lasted 30 minutes. It went by so fast

What was the inspiration behind picking the color palette and decor that you picked?
I have always loved maroon and gold together and Cade didn’t have any objections, so that’s what we went with!

Who was your baker, what was the flavor of your cake? Was it delicious?!
La Louisiane. It was SO GOOD!

Did you do a first look? If so how did you feel about it? If not, do you wish you had?
Cade was a little reluctant to do the first look but after we were able to enjoy more of the reception due to taking all pictures before, he agreed that it was the best decision.

Did you have a coordinator or did you plan everything yourself? If you didn’t have a coordinator any advice for brides planning their own wedding?
I planned everything myself. My advice would be to do a lot of research and get multiple quotes from different vendors. Figure out what’s most important to you for your wedding day and make sure your vendors can provide it.

What was your first dance song? Why this song?
Speechless by Dan and shay. I have always loved this band and when they wrote this song I knew it had to be our first dance song.

We want to hear YOUR advice for future brides.
Just relax and have fun! Anything that goes wrong is just a good story to tell. Try to take mental “snapshots” the whole day because it goes by so fast.
