How did you meet?
Patrick and I met at my at Dominican High School where we were both teachers and cross-country coaches.

Include a little bit about yourselves.
After teaching at Dominican for three years, Patrick now is in his second year of Tulane law-school. I am going into my fourth year teaching at Dominican.

How did the proposal go?
The proposal was on the day of the Muses parade. Patrick came to my house, and I instantly put him to work with helping me with laundry (obviously I did not realize what he was about to do). Then we were in the house and I saw a box in his pocket. So, me and my awkward self asked him if he wanted a beer, opened the fridge, said there were no beers (which there 100% was), went to the living room where he dragged me to stop and then proposed. It was a GREAT night. Patrick surprised me and got all of my family and friends and his family and friends to the parade route where we celebrated the rest of the night.

Where was your ceremony held and why did you pick this site?
We got married at St. Patrick’s church because St. Patrick is who Patrick is named after, and we love the memorial they have of all of the unborn children.

Where was your Reception held and why did you pick this site?
We chose Chateau Golf and Country Club in Kenner because it is where my sister Therese had her reception, so we thought it would be more memorable.

What unique or special things did you do at the reception?
We did a money dance because my mother’s family is extremely cajun. It was hilarious because of all of the people we were able to dance with.

Pick one moment in the day that was your favorite thing?
Being on the alter with each other

Did it really go by as quickly as everyone says?
YES. It is such a true statement.

What was the inspiration behind picking the color palette and decor that you picked?
Steel Magnolias – “her colors are pink and pink”

From the Bride – When you first saw the groom, what were you thinking/feeling?
Don’t trip.

From the groom – When you first saw the bride, what were you thinking/feeling?
Slow down (because her and her dad were racing down the aisle)

Who was your baker, what was the flavor of your cake? Was it delicious?!
Swiss — the best!

Did you do a first look? If so how did you feel about it? If not, do you wish you had?
No, it made it more special to see him on the alter.

Did you have a coordinator or did you plan everything yourself? If you didn’t have a coordinator any advice for brides planning their own wedding?
I did not. My advice – don’t sweat over the small stuff. The point of the day is to get married to the person of your dreams, not whether the flowers are perfect.

What was your first dance song?
It had to be you.

Band or DJ? Did they rock it?
Band – LA Spice – AMAZING!
