How did you meet?
We met in law school. I was a year above William. A mutual friend introduced us and we began dating a few months later!

what is your favorite thing about each other?
Chaylon’s personal favorite thing about William is his personality. He instantly has everyone laughing in the room within minutes. William’s wittiness is astounding to me. I know this is a very generic answer, but he is simply my best friend, that is my favorite thing about him!

William’s favorite thing about Chaylon is how supportive she is in every aspect of his life and is always on his side even when she knows he is wrong!

How did the proposal go?
William proposed on July 4 in Destin, FL. All of Chaylon’s family was there. He timed it just right, as the firework show started he got down on one knee and proposed. It was in front of about 100 people and Chaylon was shocked!

Where was your ceremony held and why did you pick this site?
Our wedding ceremony was held at St. John the Evangelist in Plaquemine, LA. This site was picked because the of how gorgeous the church is during Christmas time!

Where was your Reception held and why did you pick this site?
Our reception was held at Nottoway Plantation. This site was picked because of how gorgeous everything is at Nottoway!

What unique or special things did you do at the reception?
As you entered our reception, we had three singers from Bourbon Street serenading the guest with musical tunes from the 70’s. It was a surprise for William and I from my parents. We also had a memory table with pictures of our deceased and still living grandparents that was decorated all in gold. We also had a confetti machine near the stage that continuously blew during fun songs. That was a big hit of the night! And of course, we had glow sticks, sun glasses, and other glow accessories for our guest!

What was your favorite part of the day?
This is an easy one. Seeing William for the first time. I had anticipated that moment for awhile, so when it finally happen it was perfect.

Did it really go by as quickly as everyone says?
Yes and No. The day does go by very quickly, but if you relax and sit back and enjoy the day and each moment, you will remember everything and the day will now seem to fly by.

What was the inspiration behind picking the color palette and decor that you picked?
Since our wedding was in January and only two weeks after Christmas, I wanted a darker color. I went with burgundy and gold.

From the Bride – When you first saw the groom, what were you thinking/feeling?
I was thinking I can’t wait for him to see this dress!

From the groom – When you first saw the bride, what were you thinking/feeling?
I thought she was the most beautiful woman I had ever seen in my life.

Who was your baker, what was the flavor of your cake? Was it delicious?!
Our baker was Ambrosia Bakery and we went with their standard, raspberry, and strawberry filling. Yes, everything was fantastic!

Did you do a first look? If so how did you feel about it? If not, do you wish you had?
Yes, we did a first look. I am so glad we did it because we got all of our pictures out of the way beforehand and we were able to enjoy all of our reception. I was also much calmer walking down the aisle.

Did you have a coordinator or did you plan everything yourself? If you didn’t have a coordinator any advice for brides planning their own wedding?
Yes, we hired a coordinator, Allie Wester, and she was amazing!!! I recommend her 100%. She made the day of so relaxing for my mother and I. If there was something that went wrong, I knew nothing about it because she handled it all.

What was your first dance song? Why this song?
Our first dance song was “The Rest of Our Lives” by Faith Hill and Tim McGraw. This song was a pretty easy pick for us because it was country which both of us love and the artist we love as well. The lyrics of the song also have a very sweet meaning that I hope both of us will remember as we grow old together.

Band or DJ? Did they rock it?
Our band is still being talked about today by our guest! We had The Bucktown Allstars out of New Orleans. Hire them is all I can tell you. My family danced for a solid four hours. If you want a band that plays good dancing music, this is them!

We want to hear YOUR advice for future brides.
My best advice I can tell future brides is do your research for ALL vendors before hiring anyone. I spent months of researching before hiring and am so glad I did because honestly every vendor I hired I cannot say enough good things about because they were all fantastic.

Anything else you want to say?
Studio Tran was amazing. I had Beebe shoot my bridals and wedding and he was the most efficient photographer I have ever seen. I have been in several wedding where we were delayed due to pictures, but Beebe made sure that did not happen. I 100% recommend Studio Tran.
