Include a little bit about yourselves. What do you do?
The groom is a Machinist Mate in the Navy and the bride is an esthetician.

What is your favorite thing about each other?
Sarah’s kind heart and that Chaz can always make her laugh in any situation. We have always had a very deep connection ever since the night we met.

How did the proposal go? Who proposed to who, were you surprised?
Chaz proposed on Christmas on the beach by Sarah’s parents house with her family and his family present.

Where was your ceremony held and why did you pick this site?
The ceremony was at the oak tree at palmettos on the Bayou. We chose this site because it was in Slidell where Chaz was born and close to all his family. It’s also a very beautiful example of Louisiana for all our out of town guests.

Where was your Reception held?
The reception was also at palmettos on the Bayou.

What unique or special things did you do at the reception?
We had an awesome photo booth (insta selfie) and a book for guests to paste their pictures and decorate however they wanted.

Pick one moment in the day that was your favorite thing?
The moment that I finally got to see Chaz. All my nerves were immediately calmed when I got to see him.

Did it really go by as quickly as everyone says?
Yes!! I was definitely ready for bed by the end but it was over in the blink of an eye!

What was the inspiration behind picking the color palette and decor that you picked?
I really loved the earthy mauve tones and I wanted something that was timeless and beautiful.

From the Bride – When you first saw the groom, what were you thinking/feeling?
FINALLY!

From the groom – When you first saw the bride, what were you thinking/feeling?
“Oh wow”
“I loved your dress and you looked very pretty and I did a-okay.”

Who was your baker, what was the flavor of your cake? Was it delicious?!
Seaux Sweet bakery in Covington. We had red velvet and cream cheese and vanilla with lemon curd. It was AMAZING.

Did you do a first look? If so how did you feel about it? If not, do you wish you had?
Originally the groom wanted to wait until the walk down the aisle but Corine was right. The first look was great! It made everything run so much better.

Did you have a coordinator or did you plan everything yourself? If you didn’t have a coordinator any advice for brides planning their own wedding?
I didn’t have a coordinator and we planned everything from Florida. Personally I like to be in control and I’d rather be able to do everything myself. The only advice I have is to keep track of everything!

What was your first dance song? Why this song?
John Mayer’s version of Free Fallin’
This was a song that we listened to when we first got together as part of a playlist before we’d go to bed. It always brings back memories of us in that first exciting part of our relationship.

Band or DJ? Did they rock it?
DJ. He was awesome! Very organized and kept things moving.

We want to hear YOUR advice for future brides.
Don’t stress! I say that as someone who stressed literally the entire time. Everything will work out. As long as you’re both there – nothing else matters. And get a great photographer!
