How did you meet?
We met on New Year’s Eve at a party I was having at my house. My best friend was dating Paul’s good friend and had been wanting to set us up. I was a senior at Ole Miss and he was a Senior at LSU. We met and were hooked from that night on!

Include a little bit about yourselves. What do you do?
I was born and raised in New Orleans. I went to Louise S. McGehee school for high school and then ole miss for college. I couldn’t stay away from NOLA, or my guy, and moved back after graduation. I teach kindergarten at Holy Name of Jesus school. I live uptown with paul now and loving the Nola life! I have a twin sister who is engaged and getting married April 2020. And another sister who lives in Virginia with her husband who is in the navy.

Paul was born in New Orleans and grew up on the North Shore in Madisonville. He went to St Pauls for high school and then LSU for college. He moved to New Orleans after college and now works for a company called Meever USA on the North Shore. He sells steel sheet piling. He loves his job and the people he works with. He also loves New Orleans and living uptown.

What is your favorite thing about each other? Share a personal story.
My favorite thing about Paul is his caring personality and big smile. He would do anything for me and anything for the people he cares about. When Paul and I first met the first thing I noticed about him was his smile. He smiles with his whole face and you can tell it is genuine. He is so easy going and laid back. When I first started to date Paul that was one of the things that made me fall in love with him. He was up for anything and still is today.

My favorite thing about Miranda is how caring of a person she is. She keeps me grounded and loves me unconditionally. I love the home we have built together and the family we will build together. The first thing I noticed about Miranda is how cute and little she is. She is adorable and I love her.

How did the proposal go? Who proposed to who, were you surprised?
In July 2018, Paul and I took a trip to Napa, California. We visited several different wineries in Calistoga. While at one of the wineries, Castello di Amorosa, a man came in during our tasting and announced that we had won a raffle to a private tour of the tallest tower of the winery. I was so excited and Paul was acting surprisingly calm (but he really had it all planned out!). We started to walk up the stairs of the tower and when we got to the top we looked out at the amazing view. Paul turns me around and gets on one knee. We opened champagne and took some photos. Yes – my guy even got a photographer! It was the best day of my life!

Where was your ceremony held and why did you pick this site?
Our ceremony was at St Patrick’s church in New Orleans. My sister also got married at this church and after being in her wedding and seeing how gorgeous the church was, I knew I wanted to get married there as well. It was also important to Paul and I that we got married in a Catholic Church.

Where was your Reception held and why did you pick this site?
Our reception was held at The Roosevelt Hotel in New Orleans. I’ve always wanted to have a traditional New Orleans wedding and what better place then the Roosevelt?? Their ballroom was gorgeous and they gave us great attention as bride and groom. I wanted a place that was experienced in weddings and could accommodate our big guest list. It was also important to me to stay at the same place where my reception was. I was very happy with my choice! 🙂

What unique or special things did you do at the reception?
So many cool things! Ice sculpture/luge
Live painter
Photo booth (with cardboard cut out of groom)
Second line down to lobby
Groom playing drums in band (DPlay)
Late night snacks- beignets, fried chicken, fries, creole creamery ice cream cones (black and gold crunch of course!)
Saints yellow flags grooms cake

Pick one moment in the day that was your favorite thing?
Our favorite thing was saying our vows and also Paul playing the drums!! So cool!

Did it really go by as quickly as everyone says?
YES!! So fast!

What was the inspiration behind picking the color palette and decor that you picked?
My colors were blush and navy with lots of greenery and gold accents.
I went with spring colors since it was a spring wedding. I also wanted a lot of flowers and greenery. I’m a pink person so I definitely wanted blush bridesmaids dresses and navy looks great with blush!

From the Bride – When you first saw the groom, what were you thinking/feeling?
Seeing him at the end of the isle made me feel excited, happy, giddy, very emotional, tears of joy!

From the groom – When you first saw the bride, what were you thinking/feeling?
I first thought alright here we go and took a deep
Breath. The aisle was pretty long at the church, my eyes are shit, and Miranda is small so I couldn’t make out all the details of her. But when I could see her she looked beautiful. I was blown away by the whole moment. I had to hold back tears. I’ll never forget it. The church was PACKED with everyone we love. Best moment of my life. I was also nervous. I couldn’t wait to shake mr Todd’s Hand and thank him.

Who was your baker, what was the flavor of your cake? Was it delicious?!
Baker was from the Roosevelt. For brides cake- buttercream icing with raspberry layer, champagne layer, and traditional almond layer!
Grooms cake- Italian cream cake

Both were delicious!! That butter cream icing— omg so good!

Did you have a coordinator or did you plan everything yourself? If you didn’t have a coordinator any advice for brides planning their own wedding?
My mom planned most of the wedding but we did have Three Little Words help us with month of.

What was your first dance song? Why this song?
Can’t Help Falling in Love by Elvis
It made us think of each other.

Band or DJ? Did they rock it?
Band- DPlay

They were AWESOME! Definitely made the reception so much fun. Would recommend them to everyone. They got Paul to go up on stage and play the drums! He LOVED it! Everyone had amazing things to say about them as well

Anything else you want to say?
Can’t wait to see photos!!! 🙂
