Your Getting Ready Location

Your Getting Ready Location
and what it could mean for your pictures

Some if not most brides don’t really put a lot of thought into their bridal prep location. And I can see why! Getting all the pieces of your wedding to line up can be like playing a game of Jenga! Many brides once they have locked in the date along with the their ceremony space and reception venue go on planning and booking their other vendors. Booking a hotel or planning on getting ready at home are not high on the list of priorities.

Many brides once they have locked in the date along with the their ceremony space and reception venue go on planning and booking their other vendors. Booking a hotel or planning on getting ready at home are not high on the list of priorities.

When you do start to think about where you want to get ready here are some tips and things you should look for.

1. Light
2. Does the getting ready location have different place for pictures, indoor & outdoor?
3. More Light
4. Do you want the look of a hotel room or something with more character?
5.Did I mention light?

Sully Mansion on Prytania

Photographers love natural light and lots of it! Some hotel rooms and even homes are like dungeons when it comes to light. There simply isn’t enough of it. Are we equipped to handle these kinds of situations? Yes of course!

However if we can help guide you in picking the perfect prep location that offers great lighting and interesting backgrounds for your pictures, we’d like to do that. Hotel rooms that have large windows and let in lots of light are key. Getting ready at home? Make sure there is a space in your home that has a cleared space and lots of window light.
