The Greystone Mandeville Wedding Photographer

How did you meet?
We met through a mutual friend in 2015. We met at Parlays in Lakeview!

Include a little bit about yourselves. What do you do?
I’m a nurse and Phillip is an IT manager for an auto auction. We have a chocolate lab Bailey who we love dearly and a 16month old son that we are overly obsessed with!

what is your favorite thing about each other? Share a personal story.
Probably our favorite mutual story is Noah being born. He is the light of our lives. There are many good Phillip spilling stories, that’s where he gets the nickname of Spillip!

How did the proposal go? Who proposed to who, were you surprised?
Phillip proposed at vogue falaya state park. We went for a boat ride with bailey to get out of the house and he got us off the boat and got down on one knee! Ugh

Where was your ceremony held and why did you pick this site?
We got married at the greystone in Mandeville. We loved the beauty and simplicity of the venue and wanted it to all be together!

What unique or special things did you do at the reception?
Our guest book was a sign that our guests could put their names on. It says The Freeman’s on it. We will hang it in our house to always remember our special day! Oh and we had glow sticks, that are a must!

Pick one moment in the day that was your favorite thing?
Our first look!

Did it really go by as quickly as everyone says?
Yes!! Way too fast!

What was the inspiration behind picking the color palette and decor that you picked?
No inspiration on colors, just colors that we thought would look pretty together and would complement everyone. Our decor was simple, elegant, and beautiful. Lots of candles!

From the Bride - When you first saw the groom, what were you thinking/feeling?
Every single part of me was happy. It was pure magic seeing him and knowing that after a long time coming, we finally made it!

From the groom - When you first saw the bride, what were you thinking/feeling?
How beautiful I looked!

Who was your baker, what was the flavor of your cake? Was it delicious?!
We actually didn’t do a cake! We did donuts! Phillip and I aren’t big cake eaters but we LOVE donuts! They were amazing!

Did you do a first look? If so how did you feel about it? If not, do you wish you had?
The first look was everything!

Did you have a coordinator or did you plan everything yourself? If you didn't have a coordinator any advice for brides planning their own wedding?
We planned everything ourselves! Advice: stay organized and give yourself some grace!

What was your first dance song? Why this song?
Our first song was “then there was you” by trombone shorty. We love trombone shorty and have seen him play many times. The song was always a perfect t fit for us and makes us smile everytime we hear it.

Band or DJ? Did they rock it?
Band! Amazing!!

We want to hear YOUR advice for future brides.
Go with the flow. If your plan doesn’t work out, it’s okay! The things that you think are so big now, are so small in the grand scheme. This is your night! Make it exactly how you want it and enjoy every minute!!

We work really hard to help come up with a timeline and plan for the portrait list to make sure you are getting the most out of your day. How useful was this for you?
It was the most useful. It helped plan the day!

Anything else you want to say?
We love y’all and appreciate all your hard work yesterday!
