How did you meet?
Met on the Endymion parade route. We have a lot of common friends. David always says it was love at first sight for him.

Include a little bit about yourselves. What do you do?
Andrea: I’m an OBGYN resident.
David: I’m a Physician Assistant.
Both in the medical field. Went through medical school and PA school together. Saw each other graduate. Support each other through our busy schedules.

What is your favorite thing about each other? Share a personal story.
My favorite thing about David is how kind, thoughtful, and emotional he is. All of our greatest moments have been accompanied by watery eyes on both of our parts: first I love you, proposal, wedding vows.

How did the proposal go? Who proposed to who, were you surprised?
David proposed to Andrea on September 5th, 2020, Labor Day weekend. They had gone on a little get away to Gulf Shores, Alabama. Andrea loves the beach so David knew it was the perfect location. He did it over dinner, a dinner he cooked of course, just them two. It was perfect. Champagne was popped overlooking the ocean and we called our friends and families with the biggest smiles on our face.

Where was your ceremony held?
Ceremony was at Holy Name of Jesus Church. Andrea went to Loyola University, and she has loved this church for a long time. There was no question this would be our church. Our wedding date was actually dictated by when this church was available.

Where was your Reception?
Reception was at the Pavilion of The Two Sisters in City Park. David and I have attended a few weddings here both individually and as a couple and we have loved it. One wedding in particular always stands out. We went to our friend Andrea and Daniel Toro’s wedding there shortly after we had met on the Endymion parade route. We drank and danced the night away. A few months later, we were #Drevid.

What unique or special things did you do at the reception?
Photo booth, Mardi Gras beads/masks, glow sticks, memory table, sign in painting of us

Pick one moment in the day that was your favorite thing?
The First Look was incredible. Took all the nerves away. Felt like the whole year and half of planning led up to that moment. Walking down the aisle with my dad (Andrea), was also incredibly special. Looking around and seeing all the people we love, and then having David waiting for me at the end was magical.

Did it really go by as quickly as everyone says?
So quickly. We felt like we blinked and it was over. Already want to do it all over again. Vow renewal 2023!!!!!!

What was the inspiration behind picking the color palette and decor that you picked?
Maroon/Burgundy are Andrea’s favorite colors. And David always wanted to wear charcoal/dark grey suits. In looking back at old pictures, we saw that David’s dad also wore grey suit at his wedding.

Who was your baker, what was the flavor of your cake? Was it delicious?!
Swiss Bakery, cake was beautiful and delicious.

Did you do a first look? If so how did you feel about it? If not, do you wish you had?
We initially were not going to do a first look. Then, for logistical reasons (to get pictures out of the way), we did! Boy are we glad we did! It was such a special moment. Highlight of the day for both of us. And it did not take away from the first moment he saw me walking down the aisle. That was just as special.

Did you have a coordinator or did you plan everything yourself? If you didn't have a coordinator any advice for brides planning their own wedding?
One of my best friends and bridesmaids, Andrea Toro literally planned the whole wedding. With our busy schedules, we could not have done it without her help. She recruited her partner, Alex Laux, to be the day-of coordinator. We would have not stayed on task at the reception had it not been for Alex. Strongly recommend investing in planner and day-of-coordinators. I don’t know how people can get married without it.

What was your first dance song? Why this song?
Speechless by Dan & Shay. Ever since we heard this song, we knew it would be our first dance. We sing it in the car, we dance to it in the kitchen, and for me (Andrea) it always made me picture wedding day.

Band or DJ? Did they rock it?
DJ. We told him to keep the party entertained and he sure did.

We want to hear YOUR advice for future brides.
Slow down, enjoy every moment of the day, from waking up to going to sleep. Make sure you party hard like you want to. After all, you planned that party !!!!

Corine was on top of it and we felt like she went out of her way to make sure we captured everything we wanted and more!

Location: Canal Place New Orleans.
