How did you meet?
We met at the FloraBama! I was on my cousins bachelorette trip and Tyler was on a trip with work friends. Tyler said he saw me on a Friday night and knew he had to come back and talk to me on Saturday. We spent the entire night talking and from that night on I knew Tyler was the one. I even called my mom and some friends on the way home from the beach and said, “I met my husband last night!” I think he was a little slower to come around to the thought of marriage, but hey when you know you know right!

Include a little bit about yourselves.
Taylor is a third grade teacher .Tyler works in finance as a cost analyst.

What is your favorite thing about each other?
I think my favorite thing about Tyler is how patient he is. I notice this the most seeing the way he is with our dog, Remi. We have a Boykin Spaniel who is very hyper and high maintenance, but he handles her with so much ease. He is always patient no matter what situation we are in, and it always makes me feel so calm and taken care of.

I have two favorite things about Taylor. One is seeing how caring she is towards all of the kids that she teaches and to everyone she meets. The second is I love how fun and entertaining Taylor is. She is the easiest person to get along with and can have fun with anyone she meets.

How did the proposal go? Who proposed to who, were you surprised?
Tyler proposed in front of Cinderella’s Castle in Disney World! Ever since I was little I always said I wanted to be engaged in Disney World because it is my favorite place! When we started planning the trip I was a little suspicious, but definitely didn’t expect it to happen within the first ten minutes of our trip. Tyler said he literally couldn’t wait another minute to ask. It really was the most magical thing ever!

Where was your ceremony held and why did you pick this site?
Our ceremony was held at St. Joseph Church on Tulane Avenue. We always knew we wanted to get married in a Catholic Church and I always loved looking at pictures of weddings at St. Joseph. As soon as Tyler stepped foot into the church he loved it just as much.

Where was your Reception held and why did you pick this site?
Our reception was held at Chateau Country Club. We chose Chateau because as soon as we started contacting venues they were so incredibly nice and easy to work with. We had been to receptions there before and loved the openness of the room and remember the food being amazing. It is also beautiful and romantic with that chandelier over the dance floor. Everyone at Chateau is so accommodating and friendly and they truly made everything so easy!

What unique or special things did you do at the reception?
I think one of our favorite things about the reception was singing on stage with the band. My go to karaoke song is It’s Tricky, so of course I had to sing it on our wedding day. Tyler jumped on stage too and we both had a blast! We also got a custom Simon painting made for our guest sign in. We will always remember our best night with this awesome piece of art hanging in our house!

Pick one moment in the day that was your favorite thing?
I think one of our favorite moments of the day was reading the letters we wrote to each other. For me, it was awesome to take a quiet break from the excitement and craziness of the day and have a second to truly remember the reason behind all of the wedding planning. I didn’t think it was possible, but it made me even more excited to see Tyler waiting at the end of the aisle.

Did it really go by as quickly as everyone says?
Absolutely! Thinking back on it the entire day feels like it flew by in the blink of an eye. I think the most important thing is to remember to stop and look around you as much as you can to take in all of the love you are surrounded by! It really was the best day of our lives!

What was the inspiration behind picking the color palette and decor that you picked?
Tyler always knew he wanted to do traditional tuxedos for the wedding. I also have always loved the classic look of black dresses. I think gold and light pink goes so well with Chateau so the decision for colors was pretty easy.

From the Bride – When you first saw the groom, what were you thinking/feeling?
I was thinking FINALLY! I literally knew I wanted to marry Tyler the first night I met him and it felt so surreal that it was all finally happening! Also, after a year and a half long engagement I was so ready to get to the end of the aisle and get the night started.

From the groom – When you first saw the bride, what were you thinking/feeling?
I was thinking how beautiful Taylor looked walking down the aisle. I honestly didn’t think I would cry, but as soon as I saw her all of the emotions of the day hit me all at once. I also couldn’t wait for her to get to the end of the aisle.

Who was your baker, what was the flavor of your cake? Was it delicious?!
We used Haydel’s. They were SO easy to work with and both of our cakes tasted amazing the next day when we finally got around to eating them!

Did you do a first look? If so how did you feel about it? If not, do you wish you had?
We didn’t do a first look and looking back I am glad we didn’t. I was on the fence about it at first and it would have been super nice to do pictures before the ceremony, but there is just something about those doors opening and seeing each other for the first time down the aisle that can’t be replaced.

Did you have a coordinator or did you plan everything yourself? If you didn’t have a coordinator any advice for brides planning their own wedding?
I planned everything myself – with the large help of my mom! I would say if you are planning your own wedding just stay on top of it and don’t let it take you over! Remember the reason for it all and don’t worry about the small details too much.

What was your first dance song? Why this song?
Tyler chose our first dance song and kept it a secret. It turned out to be so amazing because he got really into choosing the song and I got a cute little surprise at the reception. He ended up choosing In Case You Didn’t Know by Brett Young. I thought it was absolutely perfect because he spent so much time choosing the song! He even engraved my ring to say, “In case you didn’t know, baby I’m crazy ’bout you.”

Band or DJ? Did they rock it?
We had Papa C & the Slammin’ Horns and they were an absolute blast! One of the best decisions we made in wedding planning!

We want to hear YOUR advice for future brides.
My advice would be enjoy every second of the planning! It is so easy to get caught up in the planning and decision making and easily lose sight of the true reason for it all. Throughout the whole process, I remember making myself stop and realize that this is one of the most exciting times of our lives. I tried not to get too stressed with the planning and make it as much fun as possible!

Anything else you want to say?
Our wedding literally would not have been the same without Corine and Kacie – and a surprise appearance by Beebe. You guys completely filled our hearts with ease that day and made us feel so comfortable and taken care of. I’ve come a long way from stalking Studio Tran’s work before even knowing Tyler and I could not have imagined our wedding without you guys. Thank you for being the best photographers and friends ever!
