How did you meet?
We met through our sisters!

How did the proposal go? Who proposed to who, were you surprised?
The proposal was a complete surprise! Luis proposed to me on my birthday weekend while we were at home. He told me to open my present so as I opened the huge box, and quickly realized it was a large luggage bag. He said, “This is for when we travel abroad. Now open it.” So I unzipped the large bag to find a small luggage bag inside and he said, “This is for our fun weekend trips, now open it.” So I opened that bag to find a toiletry bag inside, and he said, “This is for fun day trips, now open it.” Inside the bag was a small box, and as I opened it, he said, “This is for forever. Will you marry me?” Of course, I said yes! I was just so thrilled to finally get my own luggage, I certainly did not expect to also get a beautiful ring! 🙂

Where was your ceremony held and why did you pick this site?
We chose to get married in New Orleans at St. Louis King of France Cathedral because we absolutely love NOLA! And what could be a more beautiful setting than the cathedral in Jackson Square?!

Where was your Reception held?
We chose The Jaxson as our reception because it was a great combination of indoor/outdoor space and the food was delicious!

What unique or special things did you do at the reception?
We did a 2nd line from the ceremony to the reception. On the welcome table, at the reception, we had pictures of all our deceased relatives to honor them. We also had la hora loca (crazy hour), in which all the guests received masks, beads, and glow sticks. Lastly, we did a sparkler exit.

What was your favorite part of the day?
The 2nd line.

Did it really go by as quickly as everyone says?
YES!!! We took everyone’s advice and enjoyed every second, but it still went by SO fast. Time flies when you’re having fun!

What was the inspiration behind picking the color palette and decor that you picked?
Pinterest 🙂

From the Bride – When you first saw the groom, what were you thinking/feeling?
Super nervous and anxious, but excited.

From the groom – When you first saw the bride, what were you thinking/feeling?
Holy sh*t, this is really happening. (his words, hahahaha)

Who was your baker, what was the flavor of your cake? Was it delicious?!
No cake, just bananas foster.

Did you do a first look?
Yes. We loved it. It helped get some of the jitters out.

Did you have a coordinator or did you plan everything yourself? If you didn’t have a coordinator any advice for brides planning their own wedding?
We did all of the planning ourselves. We hired Emily Sullivan and her awesome team to help with day of stuff so we and our families could just enjoy the day.

What was your first dance song? Why this song?
You Are The Best Thing by Ray LaMontagne. This song was a perfect summary of our feelings for each other.

Band or DJ? Did they rock it?
DJ. He played good songs but everything went so fast, I wish we all could have danced more.

We want to hear YOUR advice for future brides.
Don’t sweat the small stuff, especially things that are not within your control. No one will remember the flowers, or the cake, or your color scheme, they remember how much fun they had, so save your money and only spend money on what makes you happy. Also, take many mini breaks throughout your special day to just look at each other and take it all in.

Anything else you want to say?
Beebe, you are awesome! Luis and I don’t love to be the center of attention, which is hard not to be on your wedding day, but Beebe had us laughing and helped make the day go smooth by making us feel comfortable to be photographed so much. Beebe, you felt more like a friend than a vendor, and we are so grateful for that. Thank you!
