How did you meet?
We are high school sweethearts! Both of our close friends were dating each other, and Matt needed a date for his senior ring dance. Our friends introduced us, and we got to talking. As you can guess, we did go to the dance together, and the rest is history.
Include a little bit about yourselves. What do you do?
We’re both mechanical engineers!
Where was your ceremony held and why did you pick this site?
The ceremony was held at the Chapel of North American Martyrs at Jesuit High School. We choose this church because Matt attended Jesuit High School.
Where was your Reception held and why did you pick this site?
The reception was held at the Moore. We chose this venue as Caroline fell in love with the decor and atmosphere.
Pick one moment in the day that was your favorite thing?
My favorite moment was the limo ride to the reception. It was our first time being alone on the wedding day, and it was so nice to have a moment to ourselves to talk in between the festivities.
Did it really go by as quickly as everyone says?
The day actually felt like it dragged on forever, but the reception went by in the blink of an eye, especially the first hour.
What was the inspiration behind picking the color palette and decor that you picked?
Caroline’s favorite color is green, but it was really hard to find green bridesmaid’s dresses. Therefore, we chose to make burgundy and navy the main colors as they complement each other well and then used a lot of greenery to accent the background.
We work really hard to help come up with a timeline and plan for the portrait list to make sure you are getting the most out of your day. How useful was this for you?
The timeline was insanely helpful both before and day of. It helped me figure out which pictures were a must have as well as streamlined the picture-taking process after the wedding.
Did you do a first look? If so how did you feel about it? If not, do you wish you had?
We did not do a first look.
Did you have a coordinator or did you plan everything yourself? If you didn’t have a coordinator any advice for brides planning their own wedding?
We did not have a coordinator. My two pieces of advice would be to utilize lists to keep everything organized and to not be afraid to delegate tasks between each other and to other family members who would like to help.
What was your first dance song? Why this song?
We danced to Ed Sheeran’s “Perfect”. We chose this song as we listened to it often early on in our relationship. It also had a beautiful message that paralleled our relationship slightly which was fitting.
Band or DJ? Did they rock it?
The Moore provided a DJ, and he was phenomenal. We had people on the dance floor all night!
